A Further Update -- Spring 2023.
Well, it's been a good while since I've been here. I have been on a far inward journey and not being broadly public about it all along the way has felt authentically right to me, for my being. Throughout this time, though, the place you hold in my heart has been a constant.
In many ways, what I wrote the last time remains the same. However, a BIG change during this past year is that I have finally(!!) been making great strides in my recovery from the devastating Advanced ('Long') Lyme Disease + the Multiple Related Co-infections. After almost 5 years of intense and difficult treatment. Yay!!!
That said, this disease is crafty and unpredictable, and I am not yet in a place where I can reliably schedule group classes or workshops. So, with prudence, I am again pushing the possible return date of 'ground' out another year, to 2024, not knowing if that will even be possible.
I continue to recover and I live life in small increments. I rest when I need, which is still quite often, and dance with all that shows up. At times my breath has been the breadth and depth of my movement.
This healing, and the immeasurable grief that continues to move and morph within me since the 2020 death of my incredible son, Ryan (not long after he was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of brain cancer), led me to become certified in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy. Blending that with the exquisite 5R somatic practice, I am beginning to offer a limited number of 1:1 sessions. If you feel that's something you'd like to explore, that it could potentially support you in any way, or you're just curious to learn more, please feel free to DM me. And if not, also please still feel free to be in touch ... I'd love to hear from you, any which way! :)
Life is magical and a mystery, every day and every moment. It breaks us open, fills us up, shatters us to pieces, and mends us again and again, turning our wounds into gold, like the Japanese art of Kintsugi. I feel the best I can do to embrace all that it offers is to be with each moment as it appears, deeply listen in, notice, and stay true to the authentic callings within me.
"Nature teaches us simplicity and contentment, because in its presence we realize we need very little to be happy." ~ Mark Coleman, "A Breath of Fresh Air"
I look forward to connecting with you in the dance of life wherever and whenever that may be.
With so much love to you.
Rhondda
............................
Dearest Dancing Friends ... we are in a different time, a new time. And everything keeps moving.
Here is a little update from me. (Fall 2020)
As some of you know, my beloved son, Ryan, lost his life this summer to a fast and furious, extremely rare form of brain cancer. He was in Australia and I wasn’t able to be with him. I now journey through the immense landscape of grief and healing that is inseparable from the experience of life itself, from his life, the infinite and the infinitesimal. I turn to my practices to help me allow all things, all feelings, to be simply as they are, the necessary expansions and contractions, the waxing and the waning, moment to moment to moment.
'ground' class has already been on a Health Hiatus for a good while as I’ve been moving through extensive treatment for advanced, late-stage Lyme Disease and multiple co-infections. That continues.
And, of course, we are all still dancing with COVID-19, which has brought unprecedented and unplanned transitions and transformations to our lives, our communities, our psyches.
I don't yet know just what shape our future 'ground' offering will take or when we will return, but I look forward to being back with you on the dance floor when my body, heart and soul, and our life's individual and collective circumstances say it's time ... I listen in to the wisdom of all.
I hope you are continuing to dance and (re)find your ground in whatever way feels right for you. If you feel the call to join a Zoom, you can find various online 5Rhythms offerings throughout the world at Sweat Your Prayers - A group for the 5 Rhythms Tribe, and locally at 5Rhythms Toronto.
There are also many other movement, meditation, somatic, embodiment modalities available online. (A few possibilities are linked on our Rhondda Snary 5Rhythms / Movement Practice / Treedancer Productions main page.)
Stay safe, stay connected, be well, stay moving and stay tuned!
With much love in this big dance of life,
Rhondda

A bit about 'ground':
When I feel truly grounded, in my day-to-day or when (especially when) I'm rocked off my foundation by some life event, I can more quickly come to awareness, return to ground and move with each situation as it arises. From a grounded place, it is possible to better connect with my clarity, transform with the storm, feel the freedom of effortless joy and be at ease with simply being.
Grounding starts with connection ... connection to self, to my feet, my breath, my heart, to mother earth, and carries through all of the 5Rhythms® in this dynamic movement practice.
Please join me for this 5Rhythms® Waves class as we find our ground, over and over, to dance through the waves of life.
With love,
Rhondda
