About this Event
🚴 21st March Derbyshire–Nottinghamshire Border Picnic Ride 🥪
Join us for a relaxed, friendly day out on the bike, exploring the quieter lanes along the Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire border.
This route is just under 40 miles (38.9 / 62.6km), but don’t let the distance put you off, this is a steady, social, no-drop ride with plenty of time to chat, stop, snack, and enjoy the scenery. The focus is on riding together, not rushing to the finish.
We’ll be riding mostly on quiet country lanes, with a small traffic-free section, and taking the day at a comfortable “party pace” 🎉
💛 This ride is for you if:
👏 You’re trying your first longer ride and want a supportive group
🐢 You ride regularly but fancy a slower, more sociable pace
😌 You want a relaxed day out rather than a “training ride.”
🚲 All bikes are welcome - road, gravel, hybrid, MTB, touring, e-bike. Even unicycle if you want 😉
☕ Food & stops: Cafés are few and far between, so this is very much a picnic-style ride. Bring food, snacks, and plenty of water, and we’ll plan a scenic stop to refuel together and take a proper break. There are several little convenience stores along or slightly off the route that we can stop at if anyone needs.
There’s one noticeable climb later in the route, but it’s steady rather than steep, and we’ll regroup at the top. No one gets left behind.
