You have pianists, and you have Grigory Sokolov. The Russian maestro is a living legend and a frequent guest at Bozar. He is keeping his programme a secret until the last minute, but we can already promise a crystal-clear articulation and refined, gentle touch with which he lends lyrical passages a power of expression that does not leave a single listener unmoved. What’s more, he skims effortlessly through an extensive repertoire: Byrd, Bach, Chopin, Rameau, Stravinsky... none of them hold secrets for Grigory Sokolov.
