About this Event

Join us for breakfast, coffee, and great conversation with fantastic people from the Greentech community.

Join us to learn, ask questions, and get inspired by what’s possible at the intersection of digital innovation and sustainability.

Elaine Brown is the CEO of the , an award-winning social enterprise focusing on the circular economy. She joined the Edinburgh Remakery in 2019, bringing over 25 years’ experience of working in various roles within Local Authorities and not-for-profit organisations.

Elaine will talk about:

  • The Skills gap within Tech Hardware Repair and how she has developed a business around the Circular Economy opportunities afforded by adopting Repair and Reuse.
  • The entrepreneurial journey - she will outline some of the opportunities and challenges that the Edinburgh Remakery has encountered.
  • Behavioural Change the double-edged sword of consumption versus the need to preserve precious metal and reduce e-waste – how does that impact profits

Hopefully by the end of the talk you will be inspired to see Tech in a different light and realise the importance of building sustainability into your business from the outset so we can all Waste Less, Live More.

This event is open to anyone with an interest in sustainability or Greentech, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet other people in the space and get to know the Edinburgh Greentech community. We look forward to seeing you there!
