What we’re doing (Hands-on learning):
Strategic Placement: (Where the water wants to go).
Easy & Fast Digging: Techniques that save your back.
Regenerative Planting: Where to place trees, shrubs, and cacti in relation to the basin.
Sonoran Food Forest: What to plant to grow food.
Mulching for Moisture: How to fill it with the proper mulch to create a "soil sponge."
We are incredibly honored to have this workshop led by Pima County’s own Sabrina Freytag. Sabrina is knowledgeable in arid lands restoration and permaculture design. She is passionate about transforming dry landscapes into thriving, water-capturing ecosystems, and she’s here to share that deep knowledge with us.
What to bring: Yourselves, water, a hat, and a willing spirit to learn and help GiveBackCenter start greening this 5 acres.
We’ll have a small cookout for everyone when the digging is done!
