About this Event

Learn How to Establish a Green Team in YOUR Church!

Join us for a day of learning and networking at Travis Park Church, led by Rev. Mark Brechin! Our Green Team Training event is designed to help churches become more environmentally friendly and sustainable. In this seminar, you'll explore the current state of the Creation Justice Movement in the United Methodist Church and discover how Creation Care connects with worship, study, spiritual formation, community engagement, and advocacy. You'll also take part in group discussions on best practices for putting these values into action.

Rev. Mark Brechin has a BS in Social Sciences from Southwestern University at Georgetown, Texas (1988) and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin, Texas (1990). Prior to ordained ministry, Mark worked as a Computer industry in the 1990s as a Programmer, Senior Technical Analyst, and Network Systems Analyst. In 2000, he received his MDiv from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (2000) and became an ordained elder in Full Connection of The United Methodist Church (2003). He became a Commissioned Earthkeeper in 2022 and Blessed Ambassador in 2024 and is a member of The United Methodist Creation Justice Movement – Annual Conference Task Force and United Methodist Creation Justice Movement – South Central Jurisdiction Team.

Don't miss this opportunity to be a part of the green movement in your community! Lunch is included!
