Green Island Festival will be an immersive event located within the famous Hulme Garden Centre, connected to the innovative Niamos Radical Arts centre and just a skip away from heart of Manchester. This community inspired event will run for 3 dates from July to September, and will serve as a sanctuary from a hectic urban lifestyle. For many, this will be an opportunity to discover the beauty of the garden centre that has been a cultural epicentre, and community hub in Manchester for decades. ��Through a diverse line-up of bands, DJs and speakers on a variety of stages, we will be bringing people together to enjoy a moment of solidarity, togetherness and of course, dance, with respect to Covid guidelines. We welcome all to join us in our collective enthusiasm for a world that has no boundaries, and embraces the ability to communicate through music and movement. ��
From the outset the Green Island Festival name has reflected the resident’s social story. A narrative which speaks of escaping the urban landscape and a set of common beliefs and principles. We are community, and we stand for inspiration that looks outward by championing progressive ideas in environmentalism, social equality and the opposition to the gentrification of Hulme. By using local artists and businesses, we ensure these days come from the soul of the people, and the spirit of Hulme is at the forefront of every movement we make on, or off the dance floor.
