Christmas and Easter in Franciscan Spirituality
This presentation focuses on the last years of the life of Saint Francis in which Francis celebrated Christmas and the Easter Triduum in a unique way. It will link how Francis celebrated Christmas in Greccio in 1224 in order to celebrate the humility and poverty of the Jesus in the Incarnation and the passion and glory as he celebrated the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus. We will see how this link was made in Franciscan literature and art.
