About this event

This fun and informative introductory class will teach you the core formulas, tools, and techniques for making and understanding great cocktails, home bartending, and drinking about town. It is perfect for beginners and includes details that more advanced cocktail enthusiasts are probably unaware of.

The class lasts 2-2.5 hours and differs from our other Great Cocktails classes in the styles and techniques taught.

What to expect:

  • During the session, you will review essential bartending tools and learn how to use them.
  • We provide all necessary bar tools and ingredients, and when you purchase your ticket, you can also purchase a brand new, clean set of our bar tools to take home.
  • You will make FOUR full-sized, delicious cocktails to enjoy (a $72 value!).
  • There will be plenty of time for questions and conversation.

The four cocktails made in this class represent the four most fundamental formulas in the cocktail lexicon: the “highball,” “sour,” “collins,” and “cocktail.”

The FOUR featured cocktails, unique to this class, are:

  1. Moscow Mule - a simple, but popular, “highball”
  2. Tommy's Margarita - a locally created version of the most popular “sour” in America
  3. Mojito - an herb-infused “collins”
  4. Manhattan - one of the most classic of all “cocktails”

Our Art of Mixology class, which explores even more techniques and provides four more recipes, is a great follow-up to this course.

Our Great Cocktails class series has three main goals:

1. **Understand Your Preferences**: Gain confidence in how you like to make (and consume) your cocktails. Since you're the one drinking them, knowing what flavors appeal to you is essential. Some people prefer sour over sweet, while others enjoy the opposite. A third group seeks the perfect balance. We will focus on understanding your palate so you can order and make drinks tailored to your tastes.

2. **Become a Better Host**: Learn to make drinks that match your guests' preferences. Once you understand your palate, you can help others discover theirs by providing various options. You'll leave the class thinking like a professional bartender, ready to satisfy diverse tastes.

3. **Master the Terminology and Techniques**: Familiarize yourself with the language and methods that ensure you always get the drinks you want when ordering. This knowledge will enhance the value and satisfaction you derive from your cocktails, allowing you to enjoy your hard-earned money's worth while avoiding disappointment. **Note:** 1. We will review the number of tickets sold one week before your event date. If fewer than five people have signed up for your session, we will reschedule it for the next available date. Please share this link with your friends and encourage them to join you, which helps us ensure a full class. 2. If you need to change your class date, you may do it one time only. After that, rebooking is at our discretion, and we may not be able to accommodate you, as it is very disruptive to our scheduling. Thank you for your understanding.

"We learned more than just how to mix some popular cocktails, we got to learn about the history from a passionate, detailed instructor. All of us left with plans for stocking our liquor cabinets and a new appreciation for bartenders." - A. Moore on Google Reviews
