Please join Erin, Elizabeth and Kevin for a walking tour as they explore ARC's rich tapestry of gravestone styles, symbols, and motifs on a journey through Victorian to modern day cemetery customs. During the Victorian era, there was a fascination with death, creating elaborate rituals and traditions to express grief. Each symbol, from lambs to a sheaf of wheat, holds a unique significance. This tour highlights some of these, explaining the significance behind some of the most common (and not-so-common) symbols of death and mourning. Tour will also highlight the stories of individuals who made an impact on this region in the 19th century. Note.Tickets will also be available at event.
