Bring the whole family to this wholesome holiday gathering. Bring a vegetarian dish to share, or simply come and enjoy a free meal with a beautiful community.5pm-6pm There will be uplifting music by 1withMother upon entry. This is a local musical alchemist, who makes playlists that connect you with your self, the earth, and inspires introspection. Feel free to warm up with some stretches on our beautiful hardwood floors, grab a hug from a friend or a stranger, or share some food in community. This is the time to sign up for the open mic, depending on sign ups, we will decided a designated amount of time per share.
6pm will begin our open Mic. Bring a poem, share a song, dance performance, or words of wisdom. If you need to borrow an instrument, need a percussionist, or backup dancers, we got you! I would really love to give each person respect by listening, and taking conversations outside of the sanctuary at this time. It can be very challenging to share your voice, so we want to create the most supportive space possible for each performer.
We will close at 8:15 with a sound bath by All Love Movement. This is an opportunity to let go and receive a very special offering. Olive and Flick (And maybe some special guests ❤️✨)will switch off with a variety of instruments and vocals to drop you into a state of peace and presence. You can bring a yoga mat, blanket, pillow, anything to feel comfortable laying down for a while. This may be recorded, so if you are not okay with that, let us know so you may be set up outside of frame.
This is a community event created by the community for the community. If you want to be a part of it, we are grateful for any contribution. If you can’t make it, we are grateful for a share ❤️🙏🏼✨
Things to know:
We are celebrating thanksgiving with anyone who needs a place to feel like they belong. We understand the holidays are not happy for everyone, so our intention is to light up the dark, and offer a place that feels like home. (Or better)
This event is free(however there will be a tip jar available for the musicians, if you feel inclined to contribute to them) do not let your ability to pay affect your desire to come.
This is an alcohol and drug free space, so please refrain from bringing anything of that nature or entering under the influence.
We have bowls and cups and silverware, but you are invited to bring your own from home. If you want to take food to a friend or neighbor, simply bring a container and take some food.
There is going to be an opportunity to prepare extra food for the community fridges early in the day on Saturday. If you are called to support. We will meet from 10am-3:30pm to cook together, if you are called to contribute a recipe, food, money for food and containers(or extra containers from home) all is welcome but not required. We will have jobs for people(prepping, cooking, cleaning and packaging) and would love to have help delivering to the community fridges too. I know a few of you have expressed interest, I’ll be compiling a group that get us all on the same page soon!
