About the Speakers:
Dr. Arlene Siller is the Founder and CEO of Ascend Nonprofit and Business Solutions, a Hispanic and woman-owned grant training, coaching, research, and writing firm headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Arlene has over 29 years of experience in the grant funding, organizational leadership and development industry, working with nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses, higher education institutions, government, and individuals. Beyond her professional pursuits, Arlene is a dedicated social advocate who finds joy in family, dance, and community engagement.
Daniela Paz is a dedicated professional deeply rooted in community impact, with over a decade of experiencespecializing in financial integrity, funder compliance, and systems management within the nonprofitsector. As Chief Operations Officer for Ascend Nonprofit and Business Solutions (NBS) LLC, Daniela isresponsible for leading a high-performing team, implementing workflows, developing KPIs for businesssuccess, streamlining processes for optimal productivity and increased client satisfaction, and executinggrant compliance services for clients.Daniela is deeply committed to advancing clients' missions byproviding strategic grant support, ensuring smooth operational processes, and maintaining the highestquality in grant applications. She focusesonfunder compliance to ensure sustainability of funding, dataintegrity, and long-term relationship buildingwith funders.Previously, as VP of Special Programs andCompliance at LiftFund, Daniela implemented efficiency projects, led audits, ensured compliance, andassisted with treasury negotiations.Daniela holds a B.A. in Economics and International Studies fromTrinity University in San Antonio, Texas, along with certificates in Strategic Grant Proposal Writing andCommunity Development Finance.She is an alumna of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’sAlexander Briseño Leadership Development Program (ABLDP).
