About this Event
Join us for the Grand Opening of the new Nordhoff Aquatic Center!
We’re excited to celebrate with two open swim sessions. To ensure that as many families as possible can participate, please select only one time slot for your group. When signing up, include the total number of people in your party—whether swimming or supervising—as everyone entering the pool area must be counted.
Pool Rules for the Open Swim Day
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
- No food is permitted inside the pool area.
- Appropriate swimwear is required; infants must wear swim diapers.
- Running, diving in shallow areas, and rough play are not allowed.
- Only Coast Guard-approved flotation devices may be used.
- No inflatables, rafts, mermaid tails or large toys permitted.
- Parents must supervise children at all times.
- All children ages 11 and younger will be swim tested. If not successful, a parent must remain in the water at arm's reach of the non-swimmer. The swim test consists of 25 yards swim (face in water with breath control), 60 second tread, jump in the pool and climb out independently.
- Swimmers of all ages must pass the above swim test to be allowed in deep water.
- Active in-water supervision is required:
~ Children ages 8 and under must have a parent or guardian in the water with them at all times,(If they dont pass the swim test) with a maximum ratio of one adult to two children.
~ Children ages 9–17 must have a parent or guardian on the pool deck. (For future swim events, a waiver will be available that allows parents to designate another responsible adult to accompany their child or permit teens to swim independently.)
