Join Ebony Horsewomen, Inc. for the grand opening of the Mary Fields Horse & Heritage Museum on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Ebony Horsewomen Equestrian & Therapeutic Center in Hartford’s Keney Park. Named after Mary “Stagecoach Mary” Fields, the first African American woman to work for the U.S. Postal Service, the museum honors the legacy of Black Cowboys and Indigenous horsemen and women. The celebration will feature a processional and libation ceremony, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a dramatic performance of Mary Speaks, guided tours, and a community reception. Admission is free and open to the public.
