Years ago, we asked a question that drives everything we do at the Allapattah Collaborative CDC: Whose story gets told, and who gets to tell it?
Today, we are proud to answer that question in a way we never imagined possible.
is one of only nine organizations in the country to be part of the Smithsonian's Many Voices, One National project to develop a unique exhibition exploring how the many different voices of people have shaped the US. We are the only ones in Miami!

In our own words, we tell the story of who we are, where we came from, and how our community’s voices have shaped what it means to be American.

The Allapattah Collaborative CDC is proud to announce that, in collaboration with n collaboration with the Smithsonian Institution, Museum of Miami, and Florida Humanities, it has developed a unique exhibition that examines how the many different voices of people in America contributed to and continue to shape communities across the nation. In recognition of this national honor, Allapattah CDC has partnered with the Coral Gables Museum to host the grand premiere of Many Voices, One Nation: En Nuestras Palabras, opening to the public on July 1, 2026, in anticipation of our nation's 250th anniversary.
Through the project, Allapattah CDC staff worked with colleagues from the Smithsonian's Museum on Main Street (MoMS) to develop an exhibition that highlights the cultural intersections that are the backbone of Allapattah. Using Smithsonian-curated content and resources, the curatorial framework has been fleshed out using local historical images, art and artifacts, video clips, and oral histories layering community narratives onto a national framework to reflect the strong history and culture of Allapattah.

The exhibition is developed in collaboration with the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street and the National Museum of American History and Museum of Miami.
