I’m giving a classical guitar recital at Bethany Hall, Willunga, on Saturday 21 March at 4pm.The program will be presented in two halves and includes works by Narváez, Sanz, Scarlatti, Weiss, Bach, Sor, Granados, Tarrega, Lauro, Pernambuco, and Villa-Lobos.
I’m very excited to be joined by the beautiful and accomplished singers Danielle Ruggiero-Prior and Chany Park Hoffmann of State Opera South Australia, who will sing an aria by Handel, Fauré and a duet by Offenbach.
After a tumultuous and life-changing year and a half, this afternoon of music is offered as a personal expression of gratitude to the many people who gave care and love to Trish and me during that time.
I performed this program in Radda in Chianti, Tuscany, in November, and I’m delighted to present it now here in the McLaren Vale.
The recital will be followed by an Italian-style aperitivo — wine and finger food will be provided.
Guests are welcome (but by no means expected) to bring some wine — prosecco would be nice — or nibbles to share.
