About this Event
This event is open to currently enrolled Georgia State University graduate students.
The Write-In is a three-day event designed to give graduate students group accountability and an atmosphere for writing to aid in the completion of a thesis, dissertation, prospectus, or manuscript for publication.
Students will also have the opportunity to meet with a writing consultant or subject librarian for individualized assistance.
One Site Support Available
• Writing consultant for individualized assistance.
• Subject Librarian drop-in for one-on-one support
• Citation Management assistance
• Data services support with Research Data Services Team members
With the ultimate goal of help students to:
1. Making progress on research writing which is more focused and efficient
2. Protecting or ‘quarantining’ time for your research writing, away from distractions
3. Building a sense of community around writing
4. Increasing motivation and confidence in their ability to set a goal and achieve it.

Can I flex my schedule?
Yes. Choose to attend: full day (9am -4pm), AM 1/2 day (9am - 1pm) or PM 1/2 day (12pm - 4pm)

Daily Agenda
8:45am – 9:00am Sign-In, Visit the Goal Wall – Record Daily Goal(s)
9:00am – 12:00pm Writing Time (3 hrs.)
11:50am - PM ½ Day Group Arrives
12:00pm – 1:00pm Lunch
1:00pm – 1:10pm Debriefing Group 1 – Goals, Challenges, Questions, Plans for Next Day (AM ½ day group only)
1:00pm – 4:00pm Writing Time (3 hrs.)
4:00pm Debriefing Group 2 – Goals, Challenges, Questions, Plans for Next Day (Full & PM ½ Day Groups)
Will food be provided?
Yes. Each day a light morning and afternoon snacks and lunch will be provided.
What should I bring to the event?
Students are asked to bring their laptop (optional), books, articles and any materials needed to achieve writing goals throughout the week.
