April is National Poetry Month, and the Grand Rapids Arts Council is having their 6th poetry event at the G.R. Town Hall. We are celebrating the 250th year of our country. THEMES INCLUDE: America the Beautiful, Patriotism, and Independence. Activities during the event will include group writing/sharing/responding to to American objects. We encourage you to write a poem or bring your favorite to share. ALSO: Otsego students 6-12 and adults are writing poems relating to these themes. They are due via email by April 8th @ midnight. Past teachers of poetry will judge and give 1st, 2nd & 3rd recognition with cash prizes. They will then read their poems if able to attend. Please come share in the event and hear these talented youth from our area.
