To participate in our trainings you need to 1) Register for the training by sending an Email to [email protected] with your name and phone number. 2) We ask people to download the Signal app, which is encrypted communications tech that we use for ICE Alerts and other aspects of our work. Download the app and set up your own account before you come to the training.Our training consists of a broad overview of the work we do, plus breakout sessions for those wanting to be involved in directly intervening when affected community members contact us because ICE is at their home, workplace, etc., and the Mutual Aid session, where we talk about all the ways we can support people who have been impacted by ICE arrests, detentions and deportations. Everyone will be able to go to both breakout sessions.
This training is 2 hours and 30 minutes long. We do not allow police or anyone who wants to do harm to immigrants to attend. Masks are encouraged during the training, in order to keep each other safe. The space we use is accessible.
