Join CPRS Vancouver for an introductory session on Government Relations with Amelia Hill, Principal at Earnscliffe Strategies.
This session is designed as a foundational overview for communications professionals who want to better understand how Government Relations works in practice. Amelia will walk through the core elements of GR, including:
- What Government Relations is and how it fits in to the communication toolkit
- How GR strategies are developed and executed
- How to interact productively with different levels of government
- Ethical considerations and transparency in government engagement
- How PR can compliment GR
The session will include a structured presentation followed by moderated Q&A, allowing attendees to ask practical questions and explore real-world applications.
This is an opportunity for PR and communications professionals, particularly early and mid-career members, to build foundational knowledge in GR and better understand how it intersects with communications strategy.

Amelia Hill, Principal, Earsncliffe Strategies
Amelia is a public affairs and communications specialist with nearly a decade of experience in British Columbia’s provincial government. Most recently, she served as an advisor to the Attorney General and Deputy Premier, where she focused on stakeholder engagement, strategic communications, creative media, issues management, and policy development.
Her work has spanned key policy areas including childcare, access to justice, consumer protection, reconciliation, multiculturalism, and equity. Amelia has had the honour of working closely with Indigenous Nations to support respectful consultation and collaboration on intergovernmental priorities. She is known for her inclusive leadership style and her ability to build strong, trust-based relationships across sectors.
Amelia holds academic credentials in political science, communications, and gender and sexuality studies. She believes that working towards equity and inclusion can benefit all.
Outside of her professional work, Amelia is a passionate athlete and longtime coach. She has over 10 years of experience coaching competitive rowing and remains active in rugby and soccer. When not on the field or in the office, she’s often out on the water.
