?✨ Join us for the Government House Adelaide Open Day on Sunday, October 13, 2024! ?✨Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, and Mr Rod Bunten invite members of the public to experience history and nature at the Open day, held in conjunction with South Australia's Nature Festival.
Government House Adelaide will be open from 10am to 4pm for people to explore the gardens, engage with natural features, and learn about the ongoing efforts in conservation and sustainability.
The event will also feature free guided tours of Government House Adelaide – the oldest Government House in Australia – with guides sharing insights into its role in the State's history, and its function as the official residence of the South Australia's Governors.
Guides from the Friends of the Botanic Gardens will lead guided tours of the grounds and discuss the evolution of the gardens, the symbolism behind plantings, and the ongoing efforts to preserve and enhance the natural spaces.
Additionally, the Open Day will include various interactive elements in conjunction with the Nature Festival, ranging from flower crowns, opportunities to engage with gardening experts, and creating garden art; as well as live music, children’s quizzes, and food and drink vendors.
Admission to the Open Day is free, and all are welcome to attend.
