Got To Get Out is returning to one of our favourite hikes, overnight at the epic Pinnacles Hut in the Coromandel!
We will depart Auckland (outside The Cloud) early on Saturday morning in a bus (pickups from BP Bombay fine) and then will start hiking around 9:30am, getting to the hut well before dinner.
Those keen-beans in the group can dump bags and go to the summit for sunset, or wake up early for sunrise before we walk out Sunday.
After a big shared cook-up on Saturday night, we will get into sleeping bags for our overnight stay in the 80 person bunk room (bring earplugs!). The next morning we head back to the bus, planning to have you home by mid afternoon.

- all gear lists and other supporting information sent ahead of time so you know exactly what to pack and how to prepare.

It is a fairly hard day (each way). You need intermediate to good fitness.
If you can hike the Tongariro Crossing, Mt Pirongia, Te Whara Track, Mt Taranaki, then you would find this EASIER but only slightly. It is a long slog uphill, some minor river crossings, and carrying your overnight gear too.

Ages 16+ please.
Hiking boots or grippy footwear (not running shoes), suitable pack, water, food, wet-weather gear, sleeping bag are minimums for this trip. Expect to carry around 6-8kg with all food and gear depending how light you pack!
