Gordon Swenson Memorial BBQ Park Cookoff - All pork including a beans category - check in Friday night at the Civic Center at 404 N. Main Street. Enjoy the smoke and a variety of samples on Saturday. Want to judge? Drop by early in the morning and sign up to judge various categories. The cook off has outgrown its old location and this year will be hosted in the Civic Center, which will provide more space for judging, better air conditioning, and more restrooms. Enter the Civic Center from the parking lot of the Elgin Public Library. Winners will be announced on Saturday at 5 p.m. on the front porch at City Hall, located at 310 N. Main Street.
