About this Event
Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition is excited to provide Valet Bike Parking at Google I/O. Valet Bike Parking is one of many ways that SVBC encourages people to bike to public events, and your volunteering supports that effort! Thank you in advance!
What to Expect:
Volunteering involves:
- Greeting and explaining intake process to customers
- Setting up and breaking down canopies and bike racks
- Intake and registration of bicycles using QR codes
- Wheeling bikes to/from bike racks
- Lifting bicycles onto/off of bike racks
- Monitoring bikes during event
- Providing a great customer service experience with a welcoming demeanor
If you sign up for a shift but are unable to attend, please let us know if things change as early as possible. This helps us to try and fill the spot well before the event.
Qualifications
Volunteers will be asked to support our bike tagging system which is the backbone of our valet program. Essentially, you will provide the guest with a qr code for them to scan. As they enter their information in our digital form, you will staple a tag to their handlebar and give them a matching ticket. Then, you'll carefully walk their bike to the rack and hang it/kickstand it. When they later return to retrieve their bike, they will hand you their ticket which you will then match to the tag on their bike! That's it! Your supervisor will help train you on the day of, so don't worry if you've never done this before :)
More Information
Once registered, volunteers will be contacted using the information provided during your registration. If you have any questions, please email [email protected]
