About this Event
Here’s your opportunity to take the guesswork out of gardening with native plants! Many of us are well aware of the benefits these plants offer to wildlife, yet we are yearning to know more about effectively growing them. Yearn no longer! Join Professional Horticulturist Gregg Tepper for a workshop where you’ll learn so much more about what makes these special plants garden-worthy and all the insider tips you’ll need to create the garden of your dreams! This presentation includes a group discussion forum, demonstrations of planting techniques, and a showcase of the fabulous plants themselves! Also, Gregg will be selling and signing copies of his new children’s book on native plants, “Mirabelle Visits a Garden: A Native Plant Garden Adventure.”
Gregg Tepper is the Senior Horticulturist at the Arboretum at Laurel Hill in Philadelphia where he stewards the native plant green burial areas, mentors the general horticulture and green burial interns, and provides overall guidance of the Arboretum’s display gardens. Gregg is an expert in and highly passionate about native plants, the ecological services they provide, and how to garden with them effectively.
He very much enjoys lecturing and enthusiastically shares his 35 plus years of horticulture experience. Gregg is co-author of the popular book "Deer-Resistant Native Plants for the Northeast" and the newly-published children’s book “Mirabelle Visits a Garden - A Native Plant Garden Adventure.”
Participants receive 20% on any plants purchased the day of the class.
