Matty has been a music enthusiast and collector for over 30 years and a DJ and promoter for nearly 25.
In 2003, along with 3 like-minded friends he decided to recreate the best of what he had experienced at events like the legendary Southport Weekender and Bobby & Steve's seminal Garage City. A basement with a capacity of 120 in Covent Garden was acquired and Soul City was born. They attracted a large following of party people from all corners of the globe by playing music covering all aspects of the soulful spectrum including Soul, Disco, Boogie, Jazz-Funk, House and Garage.
His DJing has taken him all over to the likes of Ibiza, where he hosted parties with the legendary NY singer Barbara Tucker and around the UK including Southport Weekender VIP and after parties, Development in Manchester and numerous underground parties in the capital, playing at iconic venues like Bar Rhumba, The Cross, The Egg, Elektrowerkz, East Village and many others.
Matty hosts the Paradise Love Affair show every month on Totally Wired Radio where he plays music covering all aspects of the soulful spectrum including 70's & 80's Soul and Boogie, Disco, Jazz-Funk, Balearic, Chicago House, New York Garage, Detroit Techno, African and Carribean Disco, Broken Beat and 2-step Garage.
