About this Event
Good Grief: Navigating Loss and Healing in the Black Community
Good Grief offers a sacred space for the Black community to explore the complexities of grief and loss. In 2025, this transformative event will be held semi-annually on February 27 and December 4 to create opportunities for connection, reflection, and healing.
Grief impacts us in many ways—through the loss of loved ones, relationships, opportunities, or even our sense of normalcy. Together, we will unpack how grief shapes our mental health, relationships, and community well-being, while sharing tools and practices to help us heal and thrive.
Healing Circles are grounded in love, mutual care, and a commitment to our collective growth. Each Good Grief session begins with a guided meditation to center participants, followed by discussions led by compassionate facilitators with deep knowledge and lived experience. In intimate breakout groups, attendees are invited to share their stories and gain strength through the wisdom of the community.
Rooted in Blackness, Good Grief embraces the richness of our shared experiences while acknowledging the unique perspectives of every generation. By bringing together Baby Boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, Gen A and beyond, we nurture a sense of intergenerational understanding and unity.
This space is intentionally centered on the Black community, reclaiming our full humanity and affirming our resilience. We welcome non-Black people of color to join us as witnesses and allies, embracing the opportunity to listen, learn, and honor the space with humility.
Good Grief is a virtual event open to all ages. We encourage Love Your Tribe members to participate in our Healing Circles, including Good Grief and Workspace for Black Girls, as part of a collective journey toward healing, empowerment, and transformation.
