Join us for a solemn Good Friday Service of Tenebrae (Latin for "shadows" or "darkness"). As we journey to the end of Lent, we will accompany Jesus in his final hours through Scripture readings of the Passion, reflective hymns, and moments of silence. As the story of Christ’s betrayal, trial, and crucifixion unfolds, candles in the sanctuary will be extinguished one by one, symbolizing the fading loyalty of the disciples and the growing darkness of the world without God. The service culminates in total darkness and the strepitus (a loud sound representing the closing of the tomb), leaving us to reflect on the cost of our redemption.
