Celebrate Good Friday with a traditional Hungarian egg decorating workshop hosted by the Tulipán Foundation on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Hungarian House, 213 E 82nd Street in New York City. Led by award-winning egg decorator Ildikó Fekete, the workshop introduces the wax-resist technique (tojásírás), in which motifs are drawn in melted wax before the egg is dipped into layers of dye.
During the session, Ildikó will demonstrate the technique, explain the cultural significance of the designs, and guide participants as they create their own decorated egg to take home.
Advance registration is recommended. Made possible by the Tulipán Foundation, the event is free and open to the public.
