GONG Bath in Stoke Newington - Led by Carlo Volpi
About this Event

Join us in this beautiful setting to experience how the power of sound can relax and restore both your mind and body. The sound and vibrations from gongs and other ancient instruments help to centre the mind, calm the nervous system, and restore vitality to the body.

Everyone is welcome - experienced meditators and those curious to try a gong bath for the first time. The beauty of a gong bath meditation is that anyone can enjoy it, no experience necessary. (Please see note below about circumstances where gong baths might not be suitable).

Step away from the busy streets of London and into a magical oasis of calm. Soma is a creative project space and movement studio in the heart of Stoke Newington.

Mats are available in the studio (1 per person), or you can also bring your own or bring a second to make the floor extra comfy! We recommend wearing a warm jumper or brining a blanket. Spots are very limited so grab yours now.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Gong baths are not suitable for anyone with a pacemaker, anyone who suffers from fits (epileptics), or anyone who is extremely sensitive to sound. They are also not recommended for women in the first trimester of pregnancy due to the unstable nature of pregnancy during that time. If you wear a hearing aid, your device should be turned off during the session. If you have any concerns, please speak with your doctor in advance.

Who will be leading the session?

This session will be led by Carlo Volpi. Carlo is a designer and visiting lecturer at The Royal College of Art in London. A keen meditator with nearly 20 years of experience, he is also a certified sound therapist and is currently studying on the Advanced Diploma programme at British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST). Carlo has been a Reiki Practitioner since 2002 and recently completed his Level 3 Master training. In addition to working with sound and mindfulness he is studying to become a biodynamic psychotherapist at LSBP in London. His journey in exploring the relationship between body and mind has taken him to integrate his creative fashion practice with spirituality, hoping to bring therapeutic sound and mindfulness more prominently in education and design.

Where else can I experience gong baths?

GONG also offers a daily schedule of virtual gong baths via Zoom as well as private sessions for teams. You can learn more about at www.aboutgong.com, say hi on Instagram at www.instagram.com/gongstories.
