Saturday, November 9th, we have a very special classic film screening for you to see at the historic Babcock Theatre, where we will be showing Victor Flemming's 1939 romantic Civil War epic, GONE WITH THE WIND, in celebration of the film's 85th anniversary! One of the all time greats of classic Hollywood cinema, GONE WITH THE WIND is based on Margaret Mitchell's successful book and stars Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh in some of the most memorable roles ever put to film, inspiring countless creatives for the majority of a century! One of the very first theatrically released films to be shot in the three-strip Technicolor film process, and full of gorgeous sprawling sets, this massive movie sees Scarlett O'Hara, the spoiled daughter of a Georgia plantation owner, and cynical profiteer Rhett Butler falling into a tumultuous and morally grey love affair during the American Civil War and the Reconstruction Era as they selfishly indulge in one another as a form of escapism from themselves and their questionable morals!
