About this Event
Important! Only Return Students
We are only accepting return students to come to the photoshoot. We want to know you. And you should also know acroyoga.
To get a ticket, you'll need an access code. The access code is in the group description of our Whatsapp group.
If you have come to at least one of our classes, we are excited to have you join us.
Overview
I know it's insanely early. However, the pain and hardship of beating the birds will be way worth it. We'll have low, golden sunrays filtering through the cherry blossoms straight onto your beautiful face with a glorious smile in an acroyoga pose!
Actually, we'll start a little before sunrise to catch the blue hour. (If you don't know what the golden hour or blue hour is, check the paragraph below.) We should be able to beat the crowds.
Compared to our other photoshoots, this is scheduled for three hours so that there is a little time to perhaps learn a new pose or jam with other students.
Note:
- Cherry blossoms depend on the weather and the mood of the cherry trees. We can't guarantee what will happen with the trees.
- If the weather doesn't cooperate, the event may be canceled. The go/no go decision will likely be made in the morning of the event and emailed out through Eventbrite.
What To Bring
- A yoga mat or blanket to do acro on.
- Warm clothes: A sweater and a jacket.
- Water and a snack
Meeting Point
We'll meet at Cherry Hill in Central Park.
Itinerary
There are multiple groves of cherry trees in the park. They bloom at different times based on type. We'll take the following route:
- Cherry Hill
- Bethesda Terrace/Fountain
- Pilgrim Hill
- Reservoir
Golden And Blue Hour
The Golden Hour is the time right after sunrise (and right before sunset). Photographers prize this time. The sun is at a low angle. That creates a side light, which is beautiful for faces. It also lights up the blossoms beautifully. Plus, because the light has to spend more time travelling through the atmosphere, it casts a beautiful warm light that makes everything look enchanted and your skin pretty!
The Blue Hour is the less well-known sibling. You probably have to be a photography nerd to know about it. We'll let you in on the secret! The Blue hour is right before sunset (or after). There is no sun visible. The sky is deeply, vibrantly blue. Light is there, but it's omnidirectional and casts no shadows.
Join us for this really special lighting and blossoms opportunity!
