Join us Tuesday Mar. 10th at 1PM in the lobby of the Deane Center for Revolutionary War presentation by Bill Robertson.
William P. Robertson was born in 1950 in Bradford, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Mansfield University in 1972 with a B.S. in English. Since college, he has worked in factories, taught high school English, and run a successful house painting business. An avid fisherman and hunter, Bill is quite the outdoorsman. He is also a French & Indian War and Civil War reenactor. He belongs to the Company I Bucktail unit of McKean County, Pennsylvania. His other hobbies include following the Pittsburgh Pirates and taking spooky photos of his desolate mountain area.
Robertson began freelancing short stories, poetry, and articles in 1978. His work has now appeared in over 500 magazines, e-zines, and anthologies in the U.S., Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Romania, Australia, New Zealand, and Malaysia. His other writing credits include thirteen poetry collections, three audio books, fourteen e-books, twenty-four volumes of short stories, a Viking novel, three French and Indian War novels, and ten historical fiction novels about the famous Civil War sharpshooters--the Bucktails.
To promote his writing, Robertson has given numerous presentations to schools, historical societies, scouting groups, and libraries. He was a featured speaker at the 2003 Bucktail Educational Conference held at Shippensburg University, at the 2007 AMART Civil War Conference hosted by Temple University, and at the Pennsylvania Association of School Retiree's Convention in Gettysburg in 2008. In addition, Bill has appeared on the "Yada Yada Yada" reading motivation TV show on Time Warner Cable's Channel 6, on the "Crossroads" TV show broadcast by Channel 13 in Buffalo, New York, on the WPSX Channel 3 "Take Note" show, and on the "Conversations" TV talk show sponsored by Mansfield University and aired on the Blue Ridge Cable network and YouTube. In December 2012, Robertson delivered the commencement address at the 148th Mansfield University graduation ceremony.
Complimentary light refrestments will be served.
