Goin' Gonzo: 14 Years of Live Sketching Austin by Ami Plasse & ANGRY CLOUD

is an Austin-based artist who has been drawing live music since 2011, capturing the energy and character of the performance, as well as the performers, the show-goers, staff and characteristics of the venue. He's transformed his live drawings and sketches as source material for murals, animations and illustrations and now we're digging through the archives to show his massive inventory of art.

Scribbled in Brooklyn, consciousness gained in Austin, populates the poles and walls of the city, owning the raw, often unpleasant thoughts and feelings that its creator prefers to ignore in his even-keeled and rational existence. Inspired by the rich music culture's use of electric poles and other common places to reach people, the ANGRY CLOUD has found such spaces to be ideal places for the public to connect with his work on a daily basis. He hoped then, as he does now, to inspire people to take back their public space in an increasingly corporate, glossy, cityscape.
