About this Event

She Chef portrays the young chef and recent culinary youth world cup winner Agnes on her journey to mastery through some of the most outstanding restaurants in the world.
The self-confident twenty something has finished her apprenticeship at Austria’s top-restaurant Steirereck and joined the Austrian national team of cooking as the first and only woman amongst all men to win the 2018 culinary world cup with her team.

With a set of knives and various tweezers in her luggage, she sets off into the world of Michelin-starred restaurants. During her years of travelling through top cuisine, she stops off in Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne, Barcelona and the Faroe Islands.
For two years, the experienced directors follow the everyday kitchen life of their determined protagonist. In a confined space, the camera becomes a dance partner for the interlocking work processes, is close to the action and provides an insight into new approaches and forms of Michelin-starred cuisine.

SHE CHEF raises questions about the future of the world of work, the compatibility of career and family and the dreams of the next generation. The stars of the scene are still men, but young chef Agnes is well on her way to empowering top gastronomy.
