About this Event
Join us at Goat House Farm for a practical, beginner-friendly clinic focused on hoof trimming and foot care in dairy goats. This class is designed for goat owners who want to feel more confident managing one of the most important routine parts of goat care and better understand what healthy feet should actually look like.
During the clinic, we will talk about basic hoof structure, signs of overgrowth, and why regular trimming matters for comfort, movement, and long-term soundness. We will also discuss proper feet and pasterns, what good structure looks like, and how foot and leg structure can affect the way a goat stands, walks, and holds up over time.
This clinic will include hands-on practice, along with live demonstration and discussion of handling, tools, technique, and common mistakes. We will also include use of the Hoof Boss, an electric hoof trimming tool designed to help remove excess hoof more quickly and smoothly than manual trimmers alone. They are one of our youth sponsors, and participants will get to see how it can be used as part of practical goat hoof care. Whether you are brand new to trimming or just want to feel less nervous every time you pick up a hoof, this class is meant to make foot care feel more manageable and more understandable.
Season pass holders, use code SPASS at checkout.
Due to limited hands-on space and preparation costs, tickets are non-refundable. You may transfer your registration to another participant or future clinic with prior notice.
