En reunión con escritoras latinoamericanas quienes están abriendo nuevos caminos con sus obras, se hablará con Liliana Colanzi, Carmen Boullosa y Jazmina Barrera sobre las temas unificadores de su trabajo. Considerando el trabajo y la violencia doméstica, la brutalidad y la alegría entera de la niñez, y la corrupción medioambiental y política a través de América Latina y más allá. Este evento va a ser presentado en español con la interpretación simultánea a inglés.



Glowing in the Dark: Latin American Writers in Conversation

Co-Presented By Mexican Studies Institute at CUNY

This is a free event, but registration is required.

Bringing together Latin American women writers who are breaking new ground in their work, Liliana Colanzi (You Glow in the Dark), Carmen Boullosa (The Book of Eve), and Jazmina Barrera (Cross-Stitch) will speak on the unifying themes of their work. Considering domestic labor and violence, the brutality and riotous joy of girlhood, and environmental and political corruption and horror across Latin America and beyond.

Presented in Spanish, with simultaneous interpretation into English.



The 2024 PEN World Voices Festival, the 20th anniversary of the festival, will be a celebration of world literature and free expression. Over four days, over 100 writers from nearly 30 countries will be featured in engaging talks, panels, readings, and performances in New York City and greater Los Angeles.
