About this Event
Dream of Democracy. Dream of Justice. Dream of Hope. Dream of Love.
The Martin Luther King, Jr. Global Youth Leadership Conference engages high school youth in valuable learning activities, action-oriented leadership development, and intentional pathways to college through a day-long interactive experience. Throughout the conference, students will examine leadership principles advocated by Martin Luther King, Jr., and his contemporaries through a challenging curriculum designed to build awareness and develop strong commitments to leadership and service. While interacting with their peers, students will use their critical thinking skills to discover how to make meaningful change not only within themselves but also in their communities and the world around them.
By attending the conference, students can expect to be inspired and positioned to take an active role in charting their futures. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to explore pathways to college by engaging with several of the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). At the conclusion of the event, MLK Global Youth Scholars will return home empowered, with a clear vision on how to become leaders of their own lives, leaders in their communities, and leaders who make a difference.
