Drawing upon research and organisational experience, the symposium will encourage those involved in primary school senior management to consider and discuss the role of leadership in embedding Global Citizenship Education (GCE) across the whole school community.
Opening remarks on the day from Sean Fleming, Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs with special responsibility for International Development and Diaspora.
Participants will hear from Irish Aid and a panel of representatives from the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA), the Irish National Teachers' Organisation (INTO), the Irish Primary Principals' Network (IPPN) and Trócaire.
Reflection and discussion on the relevance of GCE for the primary school setting will be grounded in research carried out by Dublin City University (DCU).
Global Village is the strategic partnership for Global Citizenship Education in primary schools between Irish Aid at the Department of Foreign Affairs and a consortium of four partners: Dublin City University (DCU), the Irish National Teachers' Organisation (INTO), the Irish Primary Principals' Network (IPPN) and Trócaire .
