Celebrate Global Running Day (June 3) the Grand Rapids way: with a massive group run, some serious hills, iconic stairs, and a well-deserved social at City Built Brewing Company!WNH&S (Wednesday Night Hills & Stairs) is a year-round, dedicated community, and we want to show you what makes us so strong. Whether you’re a long-time "Wednesday Nighter" or have never run a hill in your life, you belong here. This is a free, inclusive community event focused on celebration and building our strong Grand Rapids running community.
The Plan:
Meet: City Built Brewing Company (820 Monroe Ave NW).
Start Times: Choose from the 5:30 PM run or the 6:30 PM run (Both follow the same route).
The Route: Conquer the inclines of Fountain, Lyon, and Michigan Streets. We wait at the top of each hill to regroup! No runner left behind. Route Map: https://www.plotaroute.com/route/2525124
The Stairs: Head to the Division St stairs and do as many sets as you choose. This is your personal challenge!
Tailor Your Distance: The full run is approx. 5 miles, or 3 miles if you stay at the hilltops. We also have a walking group! (Run with both groups for a 10-mile day!)
The Post-Run Social: Meet back at City Built to celebrate our accomplishments together.
Event Highlights:
Free Community Event: No cost to join the run! (Food/drinks are on your own).
Shoe Demos: Several running shoe vendors will be on-site! Demo new models and get a drink ticket just for trying them on.
Raffle Drawing (8 PM): Stick around after the second run for a raffle drawing! Prizes include free shoes and other fantastic running swag from our vendors.
Inclusive Atmosphere: We welcome all fitness levels! We regroup and have a walking group. Beginners (comfortable running 1.5 miles at any pace) are encouraged to join.
