Dear Kafenia Friends,
Join us for this month’s Global Heartbeat as we celebrate International Women’s Day by uplifting women's voices from around the world. We’re honored to welcome Emem Okon, a longtime friend of Mary Jane's who is a Niger Delta activist and women's leader. She will have just come from the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York.
Emem will help us reflect on how we can raise our voices and organize locally to address the challenges in our own communities. This will be a powerful and inspiring gathering, with the warm and welcoming Kafenia vibe we all love.
To make it even more special, we invite you to bring a cultural dish made with plantains, a favorite ingredient in Nigeria. Or anything yummy is fine!
