Join the Stanford Center for Innovation in Global Health for this Global Health Spring Research Spotlight featuring Nathan Lo, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases and lead writer for the WHO guidelines on control of schistosomiasis (2022), who will present about his work modeling the control and elimination of schistosomiasis to inform policy.
About Nathan Lo:
Nathan Lo, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Infectious Diseases and a physician-scientist. He has focused on the transmission of infectious diseases and impact of public health interventions to inform policy aimed at controlling and eliminating these diseases. His research blends diverse computational methodologies, including tools from infectious disease epidemiology and mathematical modeling.
Nathan also frequently collaborates with public health agencies, such as the California Department of Public Health and the World Health Organization, and his work has a track record of being used to inform public health policy. He served as the lead writer for the WHO guidelines on control of schistosomiasis (2022) and strongyloidiasis (2024).
He is affiliated with the Stanford Department of Medicine and the Department of Epidemiology and Population Health. He is also a member of Bio-X and Maternal & Child Health Research Institute (MCHRI).
