Bageshree Vaze’s Global Bollywood is a tribute to the rich musical landscape of Indian film music and the music composers who defined what is now celebrated as Bollywood music. Featuring a multicultural cast of dancers and musicians, the show displays a tapestry of global and eclectic influences of Indian popular music from the 1950s until now: jazz inspired by Benny Goodwin, to the 60s sound of the Beatles, to Disco and beyond.
Global Bollywood is directed by choreographer and singer Bageshree Vaze, an MTV India 'rising star.' Bageshree Vaze is an Indo-Canadian dance artist, musician and writer. She is the Artistic Director of Pratibha Arts, an organization that enhances the cultural fabric of Ontario through dance and music productions that often have influences from South Asian cultures. Bageshree is an award-winning Kathak dance artist (winner of the 2010 K.M. Hunter Award in Dance) and, as a vocalist, she has 5 albums to her credit. Her work has been presented at major festivals around the world and in 2022, Bageshree was the inaugural Dance Collection Danse Artist Researcher-in Residence and received the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Sound Composition (Dance Division).

Le spectacle Global Bollywood de Bageshree Vaze rend hommage au riche univers musical des films indiens et aux compositeurs qui ont défini ce que l’on appelle aujourd’hui la musique Bollywood. Mettant en vedette une troupe multiculturelle de danseurs et de musiciens, ce spectacle est une mosaïque des influences mondiales et éclectiques de la musique populaire indienne des années 1950 à aujourd’hui : du jazz inspiré par Benny Goodwin au son des Beatles dans les années 1960, en passant par le disco et au-delà.
Global Bollywood est dirigé par la chorégraphe et chanteuse indo-canadienne Bageshree Vaze, une « étoile montante » du MTV indien, également danseuse, musicienne et écrivaine. Elle est directrice artistique de Pratibha Arts, une organisation qui renforce le tissu culturel ontarien grâce à des productions de danse et de musique souvent influencées par les cultures sud-asiatiques. Bageshree est une artiste de danse kathak primée, lauréate en 2010 du prix de danse K.M. Hunter. En tant que chanteuse, elle compte cinq albums à son actif. Son travail a été présenté lors de grands festivals dans le monde entier. En 2022, elle a été la première artiste chercheuse en résidence de Dance Collection Danse et a reçu le prix Dora-Mavor-Moore pour une composition sonore exceptionnelle (volet Danse).
