Formed in the spring of 2023, New York-based grungyshoegazers Glimmer spent their first two years releasing aseries of well-received singles (to praise from NPR,Stereogum, BrooklynVegan, and CREEM Magazine),landing on official Spotify playlists, and playing countlesslive shows in both the US and Europe. Now, with therelease of their debut LP, Get Weak, the band has proventhat not only can they produce heavy-hitting, hook-filledsingles, but that their softer, dreamier soundscapes leavejust as much of an impression.Recorded in Brooklyn and mastered by Will Yip (Turnstile,Superheaven), Glimmer’s new album seamlessly transitionsfrom pop-leaning singles like “Dissolve” and “SorrowAgain” to propulsive, fuzzed-out alt-rock anthems (“BeenDown”) and hazy, etherial ballads (“Bloom.”) With elementsof grunge, shoegaze, and dream pop, the album hits on acertain ‘90s nostalgia while still managing to sound freshand modern.With support from local dream pop wrights Narcolepsy, and midlands-based shoegaze group Canvas Tile.Disclaimer:
