About this Event
In the midst of a housing crisis, rising homelessness, and a lack of hope, a glimmer of light appeared in the darkness of Glasgow this past year. In a hotel rising above the city, missioners and hope-givers gathered to ensure there was a safe place for people to sleep during the cold, dark winter months.
Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord! Lift up your hands to the holy placeand bless the Lord! May the Lord bless you from Zion, he who made heaven and earth. (Psalm 134)
A team stood through the night in the house of the Lord, offering warmth, safety, and hope. A glimmer of light. By morning, others continued the mission, the light rising like the noonday. They walked alongside them on a journey from rough sleeping into accommodation, linking in with many agencies across our much loved city. Our guests came from all walks of life, each arriving at our doorstep during a difficult night. Some stayed just one evening; others needed a place of safety for longer. Each story mattered.
We would love you to join us for an evening of stories of hope and challenge, as we reflect on our 25/25 Winter Project. Together, we will consider our response as followers of Christ: serving the hungry, supporting those in need, and allowing our light to shine in the darkness. Come prepared to pray for breakthrough for our city and leave inspired knowing that you can also become a glimmer within the darkness.
