🧵 Glidden Tinker Time: Clothespin DollsSaturday, October 11: 3-4 pm
Glidden Homestead, 921 W. Lincoln Highway, DeKalb
Step back in time and get crafty at Glidden Tinker Time!
This hands-on, guided program invites young makers to explore life in the 1870s by creating their very own clothespin doll—a popular homemade toy for children in pioneer days.
Before plastic toys and battery-powered gadgets, kids used creativity and simple materials to bring their playtime to life. Using wooden clothespins, fabric scraps, yarn, and imagination, you’ll design a one-of-a-kind doll just like children might have at the Glidden Homestead over 150 years ago. This activity is just $5 per child, with proceeds supporting operations of the J.F. Glidden Homestead & Historical Center. A chaperone is required.
Join us for old-fashioned fun that blends history, art, and play!
