Here are the details that they list from the website:The GlendAlehouse Library Listening Room Series is a service that brewery provides for singer/songwriters and people who truly appreciate hearing live music in a clear and quiet setting. They do this from September through June on certain Wednesday evenings from 6-10 pm. The brewery is not open to the public on Wednesdays and we do not serve pizza, but we do serve beer that night and we set a table with cheese, crackers and other complimentary treats for the show.
As musicians they recognize the need for local music in a quiet setting, and the need for working musicians to feel appreciated and listened to. ALL of the money for tickets, tips and merchandise sales goes to the performer. They do not keep a percentage or charge a fee for musicians to play here.
1) HOW DO I ATTEND A SHOW?
On any night we are open, bring $10 cash to the bar at the brewery and tell the bartender which show you would like to see. We will put the money into an envelope for the musician and put your name on the guest list. You are responsible for remembering the date of the show. There is no physical ticket and all sales are final, therefore there are NO tickets for resale. In the event you cannot attend, you can designate your ticket to a friend if you let the brewery know you have done so, or you may inform the brewery that you cannot attend and donate the funds to the musician at which point, we will try to re-sell the ticket at the bar to help increase the musician's payday :)
2) WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM ME AT A SHOW?
You will arrive at 6pm and enter the side door. The merchandise table will be directly to your left as you come in, if the musician has merch. Please come to the bar and order whatever beer you think you will need for an hour. When the show starts at 6:30pm, bar sales stop until intermission, so please be prompt. If you show up at 6:30, you won't be able to buy beer until intermission. Also, early birds get the choicest seats :)
Choose your seat, silence your cell phones and silence your lips. Talking is not permitted while the musician is playing a song or telling a story, but in between, you may ask any question you like. Pictures and filming and live streaming are usually acceptable just do not use flash. Please stay off your phones for any other reason. Pay attention to the artist and give them respect. We stick to these rules to keep this a true Listening Room.
After an hour of music, we will break for half an hour to get more beer and stretch and then sit down again for the second set.
When the show is over, you may stay and socialize for as long as you like.
MOST ALL OF THESE SHOWS WILL SELL OUT IN A MATTER OF DAYS. IF YOU SEE A SHOW YOU ARE INTERESTED IN, THE TIME TO GET A TICKET IS AS SOON AS YOU SEE IT ADVERTISED ON SALE.
This is a true Listening Room and is run in the spirit of Mick Montgomery and what he gave to the community at Canal Street Tavern in Dayton, Ohio. Mick wanted to see more Listening Rooms form and so do we! This is a brotherhood/sisterhood, not a competition. If you would like to start a Listening Room and need help getting started, please come talk to Scottie at the bar. We will help any way we can.
