About this Event
Welcome to the Glass Society of Ireland Education Day!
Join us for a day filled with education, creativity, and inspiration at the Hugh Lane Gallery. This in-person and online event is a fantastic opportunity to learn from experts in the field, network with fellow glass enthusiasts, and expand your knowledge of glass related topics.
Whether you are a seasoned glass artist or just starting out, there's something for everyone at our Education Day. Don't miss this chance to immerse yourself in the world of glass and take your skills to the next level!
The day starts with a guided tour of the magnificent stained glass room by a member of the Hugh Lane team which will be followed by a workshop with Sheena Barrett, Head of Research and Learning at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) on how to write your artist statement to support submissions and proposals.
In the afternoon we will have a guided tour of the current exhibition More Power to You about the hugely influential figure in Irish Art, Sarah Purser. The day finishes with a talk and demonstration by Philip Lauterbach, one of Ireland's most experienced interior and advertising photographers who will help you to get the most out of your camera phone when taking shots of your work.
