About this Event
People Planet Pint Presents is your chance to learn more about weird and wonderful topics related to sustainability.
We take big ideas and deliver them as pint sized knowledge in a relaxed, casual environment of a pub. Passionate people and curious audiences meet over a pint to hear more about what's going on in their local area on sustainability, from nature to local politics to science and beyond.
It's a chance to hear from passionate individuals and experts on topics you may never have heard of. We're bringing them off of the stage and into the pub to give thought provoking talks that are digestable and inspiring.
Ben Raw will be talking us through:
- What is a Sponge City?
- How do we turn waste into opportunity and create rain gardens from reclaimed materials?
- What's going on across Glasgow's built environment around water management?
- How is the avenues project making the city a better place to live and connecting communities?
- How is the urban environment adapting to capture more water?
Bio: Ben Raw is the Climate Hub Manager at Civic and Founder of "Hope in Place", a community interest company.
Talks will last 30 - 40 minutes and open up for Q+A afterwards so you can ask our expert speakers whatever you want. It's informal and social where you can stick around after for a drink or too and keep the ideas flowing!
