Join Glasgow Trades Union Council this May Day as we celebrate the rich tapestry of our city's history, marking 850 years since Glasgow's founding!
This year's May Day events are a special occasion, blending our traditional spirit of workers' solidarity with a celebration of Glasgow's working-class legacy. We'll be honouring the struggles and triumphs of those who built our city, from its origins in the fables of St. Mungo, with his symbolic bird, tree, fish, and bell, to the industrial powerhouse it became, and the vibrant, diverse city we are today.
Join us as we celebrate both our city's remarkable past, rooted in the legends of our past and our collective vision for a brighter tomorrow.
Let's celebrate 850 years of Glasgow's history, built through the labour of generations that came before us, to the enduring spirit of our people, and continue the fight for a fair and just society!
